Singer and actress Kang Mina (26) recently shared her experience working with fellow actors.
In a recent interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Kang Mina discussed her role in the Netflix series 'Girigo' directed by Park Yoon-seo.
'Girigo' is a YA horror series that follows high school students who receive sudden death predictions due to a cursed wish-granting app called 'Girigo.' They struggle to escape the curse. Kang Mina plays Im Nari, a character who grew up in a wealthy environment and attracts attention everywhere she goes with her glamorous looks.
Kang Mina expressed her camaraderie with her co-stars, saying, "Since we're all around the same age, it felt awkward to be the 'big sister,' but I ended up in that role, so I tried to create a friendly atmosphere by suggesting we have meals together." She added, "I'm naturally introverted, so it wasn't easy, but our group chat became lively, and we naturally grew closer."
Kang Mina expressed satisfaction with the chemistry among the cast, stating, "Overall, the chemistry was excellent." She noted, "Actor Hyun Woo-seok played a comedic character on set, and his unique and candid personality made him the mood maker."
She continued, "Initially, I was hesitant to approach actress Jeon So-young, but after our first shoot, I gathered the courage to invite her to dinner, which she declined. I wondered if the shoot had been tough, so I asked if we could talk briefly, and we ended up chatting for three hours at the dorm, becoming close quickly."
Kang Mina added, "After that, we became so close that during emotionally intense scenes in the latter part of the series, there was no tension between us. We visited each other's homes, shared our concerns, and even now, we stay in touch every other day."
