CIX's Seunghun Bids Farewell to Fans as Group Disbands After 7 Years
CIX has announced the end of their group activities, and member Seunghun has shared his thoughts through a heartfelt letter. Known for his long trainee period at YG Entertainment and Cube Entertainment before debuting after nearly a decade, Seunghun served as the main vocalist of CIX. He also won the Mnet show 'Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival' in 2024, participating in the project group B.D.U.

On the 29th, Seunghun posted on his Instagram, "To FIX (CIX's fandom). It's already been 7 years. Initially, I started without knowing much, just happy to debut, and it's still amazing to think I've spent such a long time with you."

He continued, "Looking back, I was quite lacking. I made many mistakes and had moments where I didn't meet expectations, but thanks to FIX who believed in me, supported me, and told me it was okay, I could become a better person. The person I am today is undoubtedly shaped by FIX."

Seunghun expressed gratitude, saying, "From the beginning of my debut, I was known for loving my fans, and communicating with FIX was truly a happy time. However, at some point, I lacked peace of mind and couldn't approach you as I used to. If I disappointed FIX who waited for me, I'm truly sorry. It wasn't that my feelings for FIX diminished; I just lacked the mental space."

Seunghun revealed, "After much thought, I've decided to temporarily step away from being a singer and live a new life outside the stage. It's not an easy decision to make, but I believe it's necessary for me now. Having sung and danced since elementary school, the new life is honestly daunting and scary. Still, I plan to live diligently, true to myself."

He added, "I want to thank Byunggon, Yonghee, and Hyunsuk, who walked with me for 7 years. Thank you for enduring both joyful and difficult moments together. Thanks to you, I was a truly happy CIX Seunghun."

On the same day, C9 Entertainment released an official statement regarding CIX's future activities. The agency stated, "Since debuting on July 23, 2019, CIX has engaged in various activities with fans for over 7 years, but now the group activities will cease." They added, "Members BX and Seunghun's exclusive contracts will end on April 30."

Additionally, "Member Yonghee applied for voluntary military enlistment after the decision to halt group activities and will undergo basic military training starting May 11, serving as an active-duty soldier." Regarding Hyunsuk, they mentioned, "We are supporting him to focus on the drama he is currently filming, and his exclusive contract will end on May 31." Finally, they requested, "Please give warm encouragement to the members who will do their best in their respective new environments."

CIX, the first boy group planned by C9 Entertainment centered around Bae Jinyoung after his activities with Wanna One, debuted in July 2019 and has been active for about 7 years. Bae Jinyoung left the group with the end of his exclusive contract in August 2024.
