Kim Jung-tae, who previously underwent liver cancer surgery, was moved to tears upon hearing the possibility of a recurrence.
On the upcoming episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Dad and Me Season 3', airing on the 29th, 'Two Sons' Fool' Kim Jung-tae visits the hospital with his wife, looking serious. Kim, who had liver cancer surgery in November 2018, visited the hospital for a check-up due to his weak liver. He shared, "As a carrier of hepatitis B due to maternal inheritance, there is no cure," explaining that the virus causing liver cancer makes regular check-ups every four months essential. However, due to his busy schedule, Kim's hospital visit was delayed by a month, increasing his anxiety.
The medical staff, after reviewing the test results, mentioned, "30% of the liver was removed in the past, but cancerous cells remain, posing a risk of recurrence at any time," shocking Kim. He explained, "The liver has no nerves, so there are no symptoms. By the time it's discovered, it's terminal," emphasizing the necessity of continuous check-ups.
After hearing the doctor's opinion, Kim's wife expressed her concern, saying, "Regular check-ups are the best. So, take care of yourself. Stop worrying about the kids..." However, Kim responded, "When health deteriorates, nothing matters except family. They have become my source of strength." He continued, "Ultimately, the ones who comfort me and stay by my side are my young children and wife. I can't let go of my health for my family. I have to be a strong dad," shedding tears. Host Jeon Hyun-moo also shared his emotional response, saying, "I thought it was excessive, but now I understand why he always talks about family."
Catch the heartfelt story on 'Dad and Me' airing Wednesday, the 29th, at 10 PM on TV CHOSUN.
