CIX Concludes Official Activities After 8 Years: A Look Back at Their Journey
CIX, the K-pop group, is set to conclude their official activities as they approach their 8th anniversary.

According to reports from TenAsia on the 29th, CIX is likely to end their activities as a four-member group before their 7th anniversary. Originally debuting as a five-member boy group in July 2019, CIX was formed after Bae Jin-young returned to C9 Entertainment following the conclusion of Wanna One's official activities. The group consists of members BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, and Hyunsuk, with Bae Jin-young as the central figure.

CIX made a remarkable debut, achieving their first music show win just seven days after releasing their debut album's title track, 'Movie Star.' They have consistently released albums annually, expanding their global fanbase with activities in both Korea and Japan.

Bae Jin-young, who was the center of the group, left CIX in August 2024 following the expiration of his exclusive contract with C9 Entertainment. The group then continued as a four-member unit, releasing their 7th and 8th mini-albums and actively promoting until last year. Now in their 8th year, CIX has taken a break from album activities.

Yonghee's upcoming military enlistment next month coincides with the timing of the group's contract renewal discussions, adding a new variable to the situation. Born in 2000, Yonghee is the third oldest member, following BX (born in 1998) and Seunghun (born in 1999), and will fulfill his military duties first.

BX, the leader and main rapper, was a former YG trainee who appeared on 'Mix Nine' and made it to the final debut lineup, although the team's debut was canceled. He also appeared on 'YG Treasure Box' but did not make the final debut lineup. He later joined C9 Entertainment and debuted as the leader of CIX.

Seunghun, like BX, was also a former YG trainee and gained recognition through 'YG Treasure Box.' He trained for nearly a decade, including time at Cube Entertainment, before successfully debuting as an idol. Seunghun serves as the main vocalist of the group and won 'Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival,' participating in the project group B.D.U.

Yonghee, known for his relatively short trainee period, gained popularity among K-pop fans with content like solving college entrance exam questions. In 2023, he was cast as the lead in the drama 'The Witch Store Reopening,' alongside former GFriend member Yerin.

Hyunsuk, the main dancer and sub-vocalist, is an all-rounder member known for his impressive height of 186.9cm. He has pursued acting alongside his idol activities, appearing in dramas such as 'When You Fall for a Bully,' 'The World You Fall Into,' 'The Chairman is a 9th Grader,' and 'Me, Myself, and I.' With CIX's recent developments, there is speculation about Hyunsuk potentially transitioning to an acting-focused agency.

CIX, known for their unique team color and individual talents, is marking the end of their group activities in their 8th year. Despite holding their first round interview since debut last year, showcasing their strong teamwork and aspirations for a fresh start, the group's direction has ultimately changed.

Debuting during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, CIX leaves behind key milestones such as Bae Jin-young's new beginning post-Wanna One, being an all-Korean group, and being the first boy group planned by C9 Entertainment. As they reach their 8th year, CIX members are set to embark on individual paths.
