CORTIS Expands Influence on TikTok with New Hit 'REDRED'

The group CORTIS is making waves on short-form platforms with their mini-album's title track 'REDRED'.

According to global content platform TikTok, videos using CORTIS's (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Gunho) new song 'REDRED' as background music have reached 468,000 as of 1 PM on the 28th. Since the song's release on the 20th, an average of 60,000 posts have been shared daily. This number is quickly catching up to the 529,000 and 546,000 posts of their previous mini-album tracks 'GO!' and 'FaSHioN', which led past challenges. The current figures are nearing what the previous tracks achieved over 7-8 months, in a much shorter time.

Positive reactions are also seen on Instagram. As of 3 PM on the 27th, 'REDRED' topped Instagram's 'Trending Audio' chart, which tracks songs with rapidly increasing Reels usage over the past three days. Videos featuring 'REDRED' reached 13,000 as of 1 PM on the 28th, including performances from Mnet's 'M Countdown', KBS2's 'Music Bank', MBC's 'Show! Music Core', and SBS's 'Inkigayo ON THE GO' from the 23rd to the 26th.

At the heart of the trend is the choreography known as the 'Fluttering Ear Dance'. The performance, co-choreographed by all five members, is gaining traction among netizens. The self-created music and choreography are being praised for showcasing the group's production capabilities.

Support from senior artists continues to boost the trend. On the 25th, BTS's J-Hope shared a 'REDRED' video on his personal TikTok account, surpassing 15 million views. Earlier, on the 23rd, Jungkook drew attention by performing the song's dance moves at Incheon International Airport.

Meanwhile, content produced directly by CORTIS is also garnering public interest. As of 1 PM on the 28th, four 'REDRED' related short-form videos on TikTok have exceeded 10 million views.
