Choi Lip Woo and Kang Woo Jin, who placed 10th and 16th respectively in the finals of 'Boys Planet 2', have re-emerged as the duo FLARE U. Comprising Taiwanese-Korean members, the duo aims to narrate the story of two youths with different flaws who grow through mistakes and challenges.
On the 27th, the tracklist poster for their debut mini-album 'YOUTH ERROR' was unveiled on their official social media channels, capturing fans' attention with its colorful socks and freely arranged song titles.
The album features six tracks, including the title song 'WAY 2 U', along with 'Hyper', 'Don’t Cry', 'MIRACLE', 'WOO-HOO', and 'Playground'. The album highlights the duo's unique vocal tones and harmonious blend, showcasing a wide musical spectrum. This diverse album raises anticipation for the story they wish to convey.
FLARE U follows in the footsteps of FNC senior artists like FT Island, SF9, N.Flying, and P1Harmony. As FNC's first official duo, they symbolize two flames coming together to create one light. The 'U' in their name represents the Universe created with fans (You), the moment of Unity, and each member's Unique identity.
In the K-pop market, where official duo groups are rare, the combination of these two, who garnered a strong fanbase during 'Boys Planet 2', is already drawing significant attention. With the mantra 'Less is more', there is keen interest in whether they can lead a new trend with their distinctive charm.
Ahead of their official debut, FLARE U is preparing for their first meeting with fans. They are set to perform as special performers at 'KCON JAPAN 2026', held from May 8 to 10 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, marking a grand entrance.
