Park Hae-soo and Lee Hee-jun's characters enter a new phase as they move beyond their rivalry through a mysterious deal.
On the 27th, ahead of the third episode of ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Scarecrow', stills were released featuring Kang Tae-joo (played by Park Hae-soo), who has been stripped of his authority to investigate the Gangseong serial murder case, and Cha Si-young (played by Lee Hee-jun), who sees this as an opportunity.
In the previous episodes, Kang Tae-joo launched a full-scale investigation into the Gangseong serial murders, meeting with survivor Park Ae-sook (played by Hwang Eun-hu) and conducting a sting operation using a female officer as bait. However, Cha Si-young diverted detectives to suppress protests, and Seo Ji-won (played by Kwak Sun-young), involved in the sting, was attacked and lost consciousness. Kang Tae-joo also got entangled in an assault case involving Jeon Kyung-ho (played by Kang Jung-woo), a fellow teacher of his sister Kang Soon-young (played by Seo Ji-hye) and the county chief's nephew. This allowed Cha Si-young to regain control of the investigation.
Amidst the tense standoff between Kang Tae-joo and Cha Si-young, the investigation into the Gangseong serial murders intensifies. In a previous teaser, Cha Si-young orders, "Detective Kang Tae-joo, you are excluded from all investigations as of today," yet Kang Tae-joo confronts him undeterred, drawing attention. Kang Tae-joo makes an irresistible offer to Cha Si-young. The photos capturing Kang Tae-joo's determined face and Cha Si-young's inscrutable expression spark curiosity about their deal.
Another still shows Kang Tae-joo and Cha Si-young arriving together in the same car, surrounded by reporters, hinting at an unusual alliance. The focus is on why Cha Si-young, who aimed to have Kang Tae-joo removed over the 'Jeon Kyung-ho assault case', is now accompanying him.
In episode 3 of 'Scarecrow', the testimony of Kim Mi-yeon (played by Kim Gye-rim), rescued during the sting operation, reveals the existence of another undisclosed murder victim. With the relentless serial killer and the rapidly increasing number of victims, Kang Tae-joo, previously excluded from all investigations, returns to catch the culprit.
The production team stated, "Watch to see what Kang Tae-joo is willing to offer to catch the real culprit and how Cha Si-young will respond to his proposal. The change in the relationship between the two former adversaries will be a key point in episode 3."
