Ahn Hyo-seop, known for his role in 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' shared insights into his acting journey and thoughts on the show's success.
On the YouTube channel 'Yojung Jae-hyung' on the 26th, Ahn candidly discussed his path to becoming an established actor and his feelings about his projects.
During the interview, Ahn expressed gratitude towards veteran actor Han Suk-kyu. He revealed that he had considered retiring from acting before his role in the SBS drama 'Dr. Romantic 2' became a turning point.
Ahn stated, "Han Suk-kyu is a good elder, like a father figure. When I was worried about acting, he would say, 'Are you going to continue acting? If so, why worry?' His words were a great comfort and broadened my perspective."
He added, "Since then, I've developed a long-term perspective rather than focusing on short-term results. I've realized the importance of mental health management."
Recently gaining attention for the success of Netflix's 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' Ahn admitted, "It was fun, but I didn't expect it to do so well."
Ahn was cast in 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' by director Maggie Kang after showcasing his English acting skills in the drama 'Business Proposal.' He emphasized, "I realized then that you have to work hard at everything. Opportunities can come from anywhere."
When Jae-hyung commented, "You were an idol trainee, you speak English, what's your universe? Everything is connected," Ahn responded, "All my experiences have led to this moment. Every experience is meaningful, and I believe consistent effort is most important."
Ahn also shared, "I wanted to act, but the celebrity lifestyle that comes with it was burdensome." He continued, "It was difficult to separate the two, but I eventually accepted the love from fans. That love has allowed me to continue," expressing his gratitude.
