Actor Koo Seong-hwan was moved to tears as he completed a cross-country trek in memory of his late dog, Kkotbuni, on the latest episode of MBC's 'I Live Alone' aired on the 24th.
The episode showcased the final leg of Koo's journey, which he embarked on to honor a promise made to his beloved pet. With just 1km left to reach his destination at Gwangalli Beach in Busan, Koo was overwhelmed with emotion as he caught sight of the ocean. Clutching a bracelet in memory of Kkotbuni, he continued his journey despite the challenging weather conditions.
Koo shared, “At that moment, my feet and back were in terrible pain, so I held on even tighter,” reflecting on the physical and emotional challenges he faced.
After walking a total of 446km, Koo finally reached the beach. Standing in the pouring rain, he struggled to speak, admitting, “I haven’t been able to watch any videos of Kkotbuni.”
Koo then addressed Kkotbuni, saying, “Did you get there safely? See you later.” He expressed his regret, “I wanted to travel the country with you,” before breaking down in tears, leaving the studio in an emotional state.
Reflecting on his journey, Koo said, “After Kkotbuni passed, I cried for two months, releasing all my emotions. I realized I can't carry this forever.”
Having fulfilled his promise to Kkotbuni over 17 days, Koo shared, “We planned to travel the country, and I visited Gangwon-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Jeolla-do. I feel relieved now that I’ve kept my promise.”
Koo concluded by sharing a lesson from his journey: “There are good days and bad days, but when it rains, you just push through. I learned that you just keep going,” signaling a new beginning.
