The release of the spring season song 'Like Spring', featuring SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan, is just a day away. The collaboration between Seungkwan and Gummy is drawing significant attention from listeners for their 'emotional synergy'.
'Like Spring' captures the delicate emotions of love's excitement and nostalgia, much like the subtle air of changing seasons. Gummy's unique expressive power combined with Seungkwan's deeply appealing voice enhances the song's lyrical atmosphere. Seungkwan joined the project at Gummy's invitation.
A short-form video teaser of the song, previously released, captivated global fans with just 20 seconds of footage. The line "Like spring, you are a dazzling dream to me" was tenderly and sweetly delivered by the duo, heightening anticipation for the full release. They are also set to appear together on KBS2's 'The Seasons - Sung Si-kyung's Music Friends' on the 24th.
As the main vocalist of SEVENTEEN, Seungkwan has showcased his wide vocal range not only through solo tracks but also by collaborating with various artists. His cover of 'When Will It Be' (original by Yoon Hyun-sang) with AKMU's Lee Su-hyun and 'Faded Memories' (original by Park Ji-yoon) with singer-songwriter Choi Yuree highlighted his deep and delicate emotional expression. His rendition of the funky R&B track 'Juice' (original by Lizzo) with Lee Young-ji amassed over 12 million views on YouTube, creating a buzz.
Seungkwan also excels in collaborations with male vocalists. On JTBC's 'Begin Again Open Mic' last month, he performed 'Things Leaving Me' (original by Choi Baek-ho) with BTOB's Seo Eun-kwang, earning praise as an artist who communicates through song. Early in his career, he appeared as the youngest singer on MBC's 'Duet Song Festival', reinterpreting 'How Can Love Be Like This' (original by Lee Seung-hwan) with a non-celebrity participant, showcasing his unique emotional style.
His unit activities with fellow main vocalist DK are also noteworthy. Their harmony shines in the mini-album's title track 'Blue', which achieved success on both domestic and international music charts. 'Feel Me', released on the 13th through NHN Bugs' 'essential;studio', also topped YouTube Korea's daily shorts popular songs chart.
The duo's success extends to live performances. They attracted over 24,000 fans at the Incheon Inspire Arena from the 17th to the 19th and will continue their 'DxS [Soya Song] ON STAGE' tour at Chiba Makuhari Messe on the 29th and 30th, Daegu EXCO on May 30th and 31st, The Venetian Macao on June 6th, and Kaohsiung Arena on July 25th. They will also perform at the '18th Seoul Jazz Festival 2026' on May 22nd at Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
