Following the payment of a hefty tax penalty of approximately 13 billion KRW imposed by the National Tax Service over a 20 billion KRW tax evasion allegation, actor Cha Eun-woo stars in the Netflix series 'Wonderfuls,' which has just released its character posters and teaser trailer.
Set in the end of the century in 1999, 'Wonderfuls' is a supernatural comic adventure where a group of quirky locals, who accidentally gain superpowers, strive to protect the world from villains threatening peace. The series has unveiled character posters and a teaser trailer showcasing its unique characters.
The character posters are designed as 'TEAM Wonderfuls' character cards, highlighting each character's superpower. 'Eun-chae-ni' (played by Park Eun-bin) is depicted with her hair flying and leaving an afterimage, showcasing her teleportation ability. Meanwhile, 'Lee Woon-jung' (played by Cha Eun-woo) displays a powerful presence with his telekinesis, 'Son Kyung-hoon' (played by Choi Dae-hoon) sticks to the screen with his adhesive ability, and 'Kang Ro-bin' (played by Lim Sung-jae) is shown punching through a wall, sparking curiosity about their superpowered exploits.
The teaser trailer begins with 'Chae-ni,' 'Kyung-hoon,' and 'Ro-bin' peeling onions on the street, while 'Woon-jung' sits alone at a distance, trying to ignore them. Despite 'Woon-jung's' attempts to avoid them, the trio humorously provokes him with a superpower-themed acrostic poem, drawing laughs. The teaser also highlights their altered daily lives after suddenly acquiring superpowers, piquing interest.
Scenes of 'Chae-ni' teleporting unexpectedly, 'Kyung-hoon's' hand stuck to a refrigerator, and 'Ro-bin' accidentally creating a hole in the wall with a can throw, raise curiosity about their superpower adaptation journey. Additionally, 'Woon-jung' is seen stopping a falling car and halting bullets with telekinesis, intensifying intrigue about the forces attacking them. The teaser concludes with the phrase "The end is coming!" alongside scenes of people praying and the locals of Haeseong City uniting, heightening anticipation for the events unfolding in the apocalyptic setting of the late 1990s.
'Wonderfuls' will be exclusively available on Netflix starting May 15th.
