BTS member J-Hope took to the stage in Tokyo despite the sorrow of his grandmother's passing.
On the 20th, J-Hope shared photos from the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' in Tokyo' concert held at the Tokyo Dome on the 17th and 18th via his social media. The images captured moments from his performance, backstage scenes, and a tearful J-Hope.
It was reported that J-Hope received the news of his grandmother's passing as the local concert schedule was about to begin. Despite the sudden news, he chose to honor his commitment to fans and did not cancel the performance.
During the concert, J-Hope shared, "As soon as I arrived in Japan, I heard the news that my grandmother, who raised me since I was young, had passed away," expressing his shock and confusion. He added, "Spending time with the members and preparing for the concert helped ease my distress."
He further honored his grandmother by saying, "My grandmother was always proud of not just me but all the members. If she watched today's performance from heaven, she would have been very happy." He also thanked the fans, saying, "Thank you, ARMY, for making this stage more meaningful. I'm really okay."
Meanwhile, BTS concluded their 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN TOKYO' at the Tokyo Dome on the 17th and 18th. They are set to meet their North American fans with performances at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on the 25th, 26th, and 28th.
