Shin Hye-sun and Gong Myung Bring Romance to New Drama 'Secret Audit'
Shin Hye-sun, who showcased her acting prowess in Netflix's 'Lady Dua' released last February, is set to share a romantic storyline with Gong Myung, an actor five years her junior. Shin mentioned Gong's nostrils as a point of interest, urging viewers to look forward to their chemistry.

On the 20th, an online press conference was held for tvN's new weekend drama 'Secret Audit'. Attendees included actors Shin Hye-sun, Gong Myung, Kim Jae-wook, Hong Hwa-yeon, and director Lee Soo-hyun.

'Secret Audit' is a 'close-knit audit romance' that portrays the tense collaboration between charismatic audit manager Joo In-ah, who harbors a secret, and ace employee No Gi-jun, who is suddenly demoted to handle internal misconduct.

Shin Hye-sun plays Joo In-ah, an audit manager who tolerates no errors. She explained her choice of 'Secret Audit' as her next project, saying, "Honestly, while 'Lady Dua' was great, it was too dark. There were aspects I wanted to shake off both personally and professionally. I wanted to do something light and bright, and the timing was perfect as I could start right after my previous work ended."

Regarding the charm of her character, Shin said, "While promotional terms like 'tough', 'audit manager', and 'youngest executive' are used, I felt In-ah had a soft side. As a company executive and leader, she always says the right things, yet people around her find her intimidating or feel hurt, making me wonder why she seems so tough."

She also shared anecdotes from the set, "The props team prepared delicious food, and I ate well, for which I'm grateful," she laughed. "Despite meeting everyone for the first time, it felt like we knew each other for 10 years. The atmosphere was great from the initial script reading, and the filming team made us feel comfortable. Director Lee Soo-hyun led the set well, creating a harmonious environment."

Shin highlighted a viewing point, "In the beginning, you'll often see Gong Myung's expanded nostrils and mouth. It was really funny during monitoring. The size of his nostrils changes depending on his surprise or frustration. It might be fun to count how many times it happens in an episode."

Gong Myung plays No Gi-jun, an ace employee suddenly demoted to handle internal misconduct. He shared his reason for joining, "When I first encountered Gi-jun, I felt he had a masculine charm. I was even more drawn to the project knowing Shin Hye-sun was involved. I thought our synergy in a bright romantic comedy genre would be great, and it would be a good combination for viewers."

Kim Jae-wook takes on the role of Jeon Jae-yeol, the vice-chairman of Haemu Group. He said, "I also heard about Shin Hye-sun joining," he laughed, "but I was actually cast first." He added, "When I received the script, I found it engaging till the end. Although there was pressure regarding the role, the director and writer gave me confidence during our meeting, so I joined with trust."

He continued, "Jeon Jae-yeol is a character with a clear social position but not many lines. I had to express the character through expressions and atmosphere rather than dialogue. I thought a lot about how to portray a natural-born chaebol, and the staff's help with lighting and camera angles was significant. I was nervous at first, but I quickly adapted through monitoring."

Hong Hwa-yeon plays Park Ah-jung, a secretary with a mysterious aura. She said, "Ah-jung also doesn't have many lines. The charm was in expressing the character through gaze, movement, and expression. The director wanted a 'dignified cat-like feel'. My actual personality is closer to a dog, so I tried to tone down my friendliness and liveliness."

'Secret Audit' premieres on the 25th at 9:10 PM.
