Man Seeks Stepmother After 27 Years: A Tale of Misunderstanding and Reconciliation
A heartwarming story of a man searching for his stepmother after 27 years will be unveiled on Channel A's 'Secrets of Detectives'.

Airing on the 20th, the episode of 'Detective 24 Hours' features a man who wishes to express gratitude to his stepmother, whom he parted ways with 27 years ago. The man lost his biological mother to cancer when he was in the first grade and soon after, a new stepmother entered his life. Struggling to cope with his mother's death, the presence of a stepmother fueled his rebellious spirit.

His father, a towering figure at 183cm and 100kg, was known for his harsh discipline, often resorting to physical punishment. The man recalls, "I was beaten to the point of losing consciousness. I was terrified just by the sight of my father's shadow." Despite his stepmother's efforts to send him to her brother's house during vacations for peace, he misunderstood it as abandonment, blaming her for his misfortunes.

In high school, a severe accident with a cutter knife injured his hand, and his stepmother's desperate plea to the doctor to save his fingers opened his heart. After reconciling with her, he excelled academically, ranking among the top in his technical high school and successfully entering college.

On the day he left for another city, his stepmother, despite her limp, ran to give him her savings. He recalls, "The bills were soaked with sweat and tears, crumpled from my crying." During his first military leave, she embraced him and prepared his favorite meals. However, his happiness was short-lived as he learned from his father that she had allegedly run away with 20 million won. He hasn't seen her since. The full story of what happened to his stepmother will be revealed in the broadcast.

Despite his busy schedule, he shares, "I'm busier now than during my playing days." Currently appearing in 'Fire Baseball 2' with coach Kim Sung-geun, he admits, "I have practice and tryouts to attend. It's a crucial time, and I might get scolded by the coach for being here," showing his nervousness.
