Actress Park So-dam has become the first Korean actress to grace the cover of the UK-based art and fashion magazine 'House of Solo'.
'House of Solo' is a visually-driven quarterly magazine that blends fashion and art, known for its experimental imagery and collaborations with global creators. Following in the footsteps of international artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Louis Tomlinson of One Direction, Park So-dam's appearance marks a significant milestone as the first Korean actress to feature on the cover.
In the photoshoot themed 'LOVE', Park So-dam flawlessly showcased a variety of styles, ranging from black and white to red. In a black dress paired with a pearl necklace, she exuded a captivating yet strong inner gaze, while in the red and white-toned photos, she revealed her unique clear and delicate aura, presenting a high-quality visual.
Park So-dam seamlessly immersed herself in the process of capturing emotions through imagery rather than direct expression. With restrained expressiveness and a profound gaze, she interpreted love not as a narrative but as a 'state', naturally aligning with the magazine's visual language. Her characteristic calm yet dense atmosphere permeates the entire photoshoot, leaving a deep impression as if the person herself is read as an emotion.
In the accompanying interview, Park So-dam described her recent life with the words 'comfort, calm, happiness', sharing a more relaxed update. Aligning with the theme of this issue, she expressed, "I think I'm a person full of love. My parents made me this way," adding, "I hope everyone has something or someone they truly love. It would be even better if it starts with loving oneself." She also shared her deep thoughts on the essence of love, saying, "It's about being strong enough to lean on each other, cherishing and protecting the vulnerable inner self, and living together."
She also expressed her anticipation for her upcoming film 'Gyeongju Journey'. Having been deeply immersed in the character upon reading the script, she stated, "Every character remained vividly in my memory, and I felt a burning energy from deep within, convincing me that I had to be part of this journey."
The film 'Gyeongju Journey' is a family revenge drama about four sisters embarking on a 'deadly' journey after an eight-year wait for their youngest sister 'Gyeongju', who never returned from a school trip. Park So-dam is set to transform into the character 'Youngju', promising a new transformation. Notably, 'Gyeongju Journey' recently won the Audience Award at the 24th Florence Korea Film Fest.
Meanwhile, born in 1991, Park So-dam was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2021 and has fully recovered after surgery. She made her comeback in 2023 with the film 'Phantom' and delivered a passionate performance in the TVING original series 'Death's Game'.
