On the 9th, it was announced that the film 'The Hive', which has garnered attention for the collaboration between Jun Ji-hyun and director Yeon Sang-ho, has been officially invited to the Midnight Screening section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival. 'The Hive' is a film about isolated survivors in a building sealed off due to a mysterious infection outbreak, facing off against infected individuals who evolve in unpredictable ways.
In the film, Jun Ji-hyun plays the role of Kwon Se-jung, a biotechnologist and the leader of the survivor group, who uses her cold judgment and strong sense of justice to guide them through extreme situations. She is expected to deliver a new acting transformation by portraying the inner conflicts and weight of choices that emerge in tense moments.
Jun Ji-hyun will continue her momentum with another upcoming project, JTBC's 'Human X Gumiho'. Scheduled to air in the first half of 2027, 'Human X Gumiho' is a fantasy romantic comedy about a mysterious(x) encounter between a seductive mythical creature and a human who attracts such beings. Jun Ji-hyun will play the role of Gu Ja-hong, a 2000-year-old gumiho, alongside actor Ji Chang-wook.
Meanwhile, 'The Hive' is set to hit theaters in May.
