Actress Lee Da-hee candidly shared her thoughts on single life on the new tvN variety show 'Gugidong Friends.'
The episode aired on the 10th, featuring six members: broadcaster Jang Do-yeon, actors Lee Da-hee, Choi Daniel, Jang Keun-suk, Ahn Jae-hyun, and Kyung Soo-jin, as they moved into the 'Gugidong House.'
Jang Keun-suk, the first to arrive at the house, revealed, "I've been living alone for 19 years, and I still want to have fun and do many things. But as my friends got married, I found myself alone. I wanted to share my life with others."
Jang Do-yeon, who has been living alone for 14 years, confessed, "I recently caught a cold and realized I had no one to tell. Just having one person ask 'What are you doing?' makes a difference. I hate being alone when I'm sick." She described her move into the house as a 'challenge' to change her lifestyle.
Choi Daniel, who has lived alone for 20 years, joined the house expecting a romantic vibe, while Lee Da-hee, who lives with her parents, expressed her fears about living alone after they are gone. "Marriage isn't the only answer, but I wonder if there's a new form of family," she said.
Kyung Soo-jin, 39, shared her concerns about marriage and children, questioning if she could adapt to living with someone after 14 years alone. Ahn Jae-hyun, who has been single for 7 years, expressed his desire to expand his world as he feels his social circle is shrinking with age.
During a conversation to break the ice, Choi Daniel complimented Jang Do-yeon on her "slightly crooked lips," which made her blush and express discomfort, yet she maintained the mood by suggesting they speak freely.
The two went grocery shopping together, with Choi Daniel describing the experience as "fluffy." However, Jang Do-yeon had earlier clarified to her mother over the phone, "This isn't a dating show. It's not a place to come with ulterior motives."
'Gugidong Friends' is a new tvN variety show that captures the sentiments of modern adults who enjoy being alone but dislike loneliness, reflecting the trend of seeking loose connections in today's society.
