Latin pop group Santos Bravos shared insights on the differences between the K-pop and Latin pop systems.
On the afternoon of the 10th, Santos Bravos held a media day event at the HYBE headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to commemorate their first visit to Korea, where they met with Ten Asia.
Cauê expressed gratitude for being able to utilize K-pop methodologies during their training process. He stated, "As artists, it was perhaps the best training process we could have received as we became another group." He added, "Even though we have a history of performing as singers, the practice process made us realize the need to work harder and improve as artists. We constantly think about how to train and practice more diligently, learning a lot about hard work and dedication not only for ourselves but also for our fans."
Drew noted the significant differences between the K-pop and Latin pop systems, which allowed for substantial mental growth. He shared, "When we first started boot camp, we began with 16 members and were narrowed down to 5 within six months. Without this system, it would have been impossible to select just 5." He explained, "Going through the K-pop system involved daily practice that pushed the limits of both body and mind. The set schedule was truly different, with designated times for meals and breaks, and practicing every day for six months made vocal care crucial. Operating based on this schedule is really different from the Latin music scene. I believe having a routine that didn't exist before allowed for personal growth."
Kenneth also emphasized the importance of 'diligence and sincerity.' He remarked, "It's not just about developing skills and artistic aspects, but understanding the importance of working hard in every area." He continued, "There's a saying that you can achieve anything if you work hard. The K-pop system seems to demonstrate that. I went through a voice change during boot camp, and thanks to the support from my brother-like members, I was able to overcome it."
Meanwhile, Santos Bravos' first EP 'DUAL' was released on various music sites on the 13th of last month. The album explores the theme of 'duality,' showcasing two contrasting aspects coexisting. The group visited Korea for the first time since their debut on the 4th and are currently staying in the country.
