Lee Kyung-kyu Open to Grandparenting Despite Daughter's DINK Lifestyle

Lee Kyung-kyu expresses willingness to embrace grandparenting, even as his daughter Lee Ye-rim considers a DINK (Dual Income, No Kids) lifestyle.

On the October 9th episode of tvN STORY's 'Parenting Interns,' Lee Kyung-kyu and Ahn Jung-hwan were seen receiving babysitter training before diving into real-life scenarios. They revisited their parenting experiences from 30 and 20 years ago, respectively, while learning basic childcare attitudes and the 'Ten Commandments of Parenting Interns.'

Lee Kyung-kyu mentioned, "My daughter has been married for six years, so there's a high chance I'll become a grandfather," indicating his openness to 'twilight parenting.' When Ahn Jung-hwan asked if he would engage in twilight parenting, Lee Kyung-kyu replied, "I should help, shouldn't I? I'm willing to assist." However, his daughter Lee Ye-rim had previously expressed on Lee Kyung-kyu's YouTube channel 'God Kyung-kyu' that she is not fond of children and is considering a DINK lifestyle.

Lee Kyung-kyu called his daughter directly. Ahn Jung-hwan asked, "If Ye-rim has a beautiful child, would she entrust the child to her father?" Lee Ye-rim responded, "I'm not sure," indicating her reluctance.

Lee Kyung-kyu shared his perspective, "If you're married, I think it's right to have children unless there's a reason you can't." However, he clarified, "I have no intention of forcing my daughter." Nonetheless, he reiterated his readiness for twilight parenting, stating, "I am confident I can raise a child."
