JTBC's 'Han Moon-chul's Black Box Review' (referred to as 'Hanbli') will spotlight a shocking assault incident involving an intoxicated passenger.
Airing at 8:50 PM on the 8th, the episode will delve into the brutal attack that occurred in broad daylight in a residential alley. The released footage shows a drunken passenger refusing to pay the fare upon reaching his destination, causing a disturbance and threatening the driver with menacing words like, "Do you want to die?" The situation escalates as the passenger crosses over to the driver's seat, forcing the taxi driver to flee the vehicle, only to be relentlessly pursued and violently attacked, leaving the studio in shock.
The production team interviews the victimized taxi driver to recount the nightmare of that day. The driver recalls how the passenger turned threatening when asked to pay the fare, leading to an indiscriminate assault. Despite pleading for his life, the attacker focused on hitting the driver's head. The driver was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage (subdural hematoma) and suffered injuries requiring six weeks of recovery, narrowly escaping a vegetative state. Jonathan commented, "That's just intent to kill," while Kyuhyun and Shin Kyu-jin expressed their outrage, stating, "He's out of his mind."
The studio's anger intensifies as they discuss the attacker's brutality, which borders on 'attempted murder,' and his irresponsible response afterward. The attacker's mother defended her son, claiming, "My son wouldn't do such a thing," and offered an unreasonable settlement, showing no remorse, which sparked public outrage. Lawyer Han Moon-chul warned of the incident's severity, stating, "Although diagnosed with a six-week injury, it could have been much worse," and emphasized that the court should not settle for a mere fine, advocating for severe punishment for the indiscriminate assault.
Additionally, 'Hanbli' will highlight a shocking vehicle vandalism incident. CCTV footage reveals a perpetrator using a snow shovel to severely damage a properly parked vehicle in a white-lined parking zone. The attacker committed the crime twice, displaying erratic behavior upon arrest, leaving the panel speechless. Despite the severe damage to a stranger's car, the perpetrator and his family refused to take responsibility, leaving the victim to cover repair costs with their own insurance.
The episode will feature comedian Shin Kyu-jin, who showcases his unique presence. Known for his close friendship with Ye-won, Shin Kyu-jin adds intrigue to the studio atmosphere and demonstrates his enthusiasm by submitting his own black box footage for the show.
