The tragic death of film director Kim Chang-min, who passed away after being assaulted, has sparked public outrage as images of him during hospitalization have been released.
On the 6th, JTBC's 'Newsroom' obtained and released photos from Kim's family showing him being transferred from the emergency room to the intensive care unit on the day of the incident.
In the ICU, Kim was seen with prominent bruises on his eyelids, nose bridge, and temples. There was also bleeding inside his left ear. Although unconscious, tears were visible in his eyes.
Kim's father, Kim Sang-chul, expressed his grief, saying, "It's injustice, isn't it? He was unconscious, how could he know pain? He must have been worried about his child."
The late director Kim Chang-min was dining with his son, who has a developmental disability, at a restaurant in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, last October when an altercation with another group led to a brutal assault. He lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital, where he fell into a brain-dead state due to a cerebral hemorrhage. In November, he passed away after donating his organs, saving four lives.
