D.O.'s 'Popcorn' Climbs the Charts Again, Capturing Hearts This Spring

Singer and actor D.O. has become the latest sensation as his song 'Popcorn', released two years ago, makes a surprising comeback this spring.

Recently, 'Popcorn' entered the Melon real-time charts, creating a buzz and securing the 27th spot on Melon's daily chart on the 6th. The song not only dominated the real-time charts but also appeared in Melon's popular song search trends and period charts. It also climbed to the 2nd position on the FLO chart, 7th on Bugs, and 24th on Genie, proving its rising popularity across various music platforms.

'Popcorn' is a track from D.O.'s third mini-album 'Growth', released in May 2024. The song uses popcorn as a metaphor for the heart-pounding excitement of being with a loved one. Its playful and emotional lyrics, combined with D.O.'s sweet and charming voice, enhance the song's soft atmosphere.

The song gained additional attention when it was mentioned on the tvN variety show 'Kong Simundae Kong Naseo Useumpang Haengbokpang Haewae Tambang' last November. During a road trip, Kim Woo-bin requested the song, and D.O. sang it, stating, "It's Woo-bin's favorite popcorn," capturing the audience's attention. The sweet atmosphere created by the song was perfectly captured on screen, showcasing the genuine friendship vibe among the three friends.

The song's depiction of love as sweet, popcorn-popping moments aligns perfectly with the blooming spring season, further fueling its resurgence. It's also becoming a popular choice for wedding songs, making it a hit during the spring wedding season.

Meanwhile, D.O. showcased his intense acting skills as the villain Ahn Yohan in Disney+'s original series 'Fragmented City' last year and charmed audiences with his friendly image on the tvN variety show 'Kong Kong Pang Pang'. In January, he participated in EXO's 8th studio album 'REVERXE'.
