Jun Ji-hyun expresses excitement as she returns to the big screen after 11 years with 'The Hive'.
On the 4th, a production briefing for the film 'The Hive' (directed by Yeon Sang-ho) was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Hangang-daero, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Yeon Sang-ho, along with actors Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-bin, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo, attended the event.
'The Hive' is a film about a group of survivors isolated in a building called 'The Hive', which is sealed off due to an unidentified infection outbreak. The survivors engage in a battle against the infected, who evolve in unpredictable ways.
Jun Ji-hyun takes on the role of Kwon Se-jung, a biotechnology professor and the leader of the survivor group. This marks her return to the screen after 11 years since her last film, 'Assassination' (directed by Choi Dong-hoon).
Jun Ji-hyun expressed her joy, saying, "I'm thrilled to return to films after such a long time. As a big fan of Director Yeon, I'm delighted to greet audiences through his work." She added, "I chose to participate because it's a work by Director Yeon Sang-ho, and I have the opportunity to work with such talented actors in one project."
Describing her character, Kwon Se-jung, Jun Ji-hyun said, "She is upright and stands against injustice. She is a proactive leader who strives to save the survivors until the end."
'The Hive' is set to be released in May.
