Actor Kim Ji-seok opens up about his changed perspective on life following his grandmother's passing.
On October 4th, the YouTube channel 'Kim Ji-seok's Inner Gem' released a video titled 'Day Drinking with So-min.'
In the video, Kim Ji-seok shared, "I've been thinking a lot about 'dreams' lately. Considering we live in an era where people can live up to 100 years, I keep wondering what the next chapter holds. I've been acting since my early 20s, so I wonder what's next. But everything seemed vague," he confessed.
Recently, Kim Ji-seok experienced the loss of his grandmother. "My grandmother passed away not long ago. It was my first time being the chief mourner, experiencing the death of an immediate family member," he said. "After going through that, the world looks a bit different," he added.
Kim Ji-seok also shared his thoughts from the three-day funeral. "I saw people coming and going, how my grandmother was remembered, and how we remember her," he said. "Even in her passing, she left us with such a gift," he expressed with deep longing.
He continued, "I used to think about buying a building and living off the rent. But witnessing death made me realize how futile those dreams were."
Kim Ji-seok reflected, "How I am remembered, how people reminisce and think of me, and how I leave my mark on the world seem to be the most important things."
In response, Jeon So-min commented, "It's become a milestone," to which Kim Ji-seok replied, "It feels like she left me with a milestone. I'm very grateful for that."
Kim Ji-seok candidly shared his thoughts on living a meaningful life, stating, "I don't want to work just for a living." Yet, he also expressed his passion for acting, saying, "I want to do dramas."
