Comedian Jung Hyung-don is making headlines as he re-enters the donkatsu business after overcoming two major setbacks over the past six years.
On October 3rd, through his YouTube channel 'Jung Hyung-don's Untitled TV,' he announced his return with a brief yet impactful statement: "I'm selling donkatsu again. That's it."
He expressed, "I didn't want to bring this up personally, but for the direction of the channel and for those who have been working hard, I decided to make this announcement," before declaring his comeback with the succinct statement, "I'm selling donkatsu again."
Jung Hyung-don's donkatsu venture has seen both success and challenges. Initially launched in 2011, the product quickly gained attention through home shopping broadcasts. However, in 2013, the business faced a crisis due to controversies surrounding the manufacturing company. In 2018, he attempted a comeback with a new manufacturer, but sales were halted two years later when some products were found to contain E. coli, leading to recalls and another setback.
Meanwhile, Jung Hyung-don married Han Yu-ra, a former TV writer, in 2009, and they have twin daughters. The family currently resides in Hawaii, with Jung reportedly commuting between Korea and Hawaii.
