In the episode airing on the 3rd, viewers will see Chef Kim Si-hyun embark on a 'herb study' journey to welcome spring. The chef dives into the world of herbs in Tongyeong, guided by his culinary mentor, Lee Sang-hee, a local cooking researcher. Armed with a basket in one hand and a knife in the other, Chef Kim is amazed by the breathtaking view of the 'herb paradise' against the backdrop of the open sea.
With permission from his mentor's acquaintance, Chef Kim eagerly begins harvesting herbs. His mentor encourages him, saying, "If you open your eyes wide, everything is a treasure!" as they uncover hidden gems among the herbs.
Chef Kim exclaims, "So beautiful!" and even jokes about making a bouquet out of the herbs, bringing laughter. He is particularly thrilled to discover a specific herb, exclaiming, "I've finally met you!" sparking curiosity about the identity of this mysterious herb.
The episode also showcases Chef Kim learning to prepare Tongyeong's traditional dishes, 'Bangpung Tangpyeongchae' and 'Herb Seolchiguk,' using the herbs he gathered and ingredients from a local market. Under his mentor's guidance, he focuses on preparing the ingredients and mixing the herbs.
Chef Kim is fascinated by the unique combination and taste of the herbs, displaying a curious 'predatory gaze.' Even after cooking, he continues to ask questions and diligently fills his culinary notebook. Anticipation builds around the dishes 'Bangpung Tangpyeongchae' and 'Herb Seolchiguk' that Chef Kim has learned.
