K-pop Star Jo Kwon Opens Up About Parents' Cancer Battles and Personal Health Struggles

Jo Kwon has revealed the cancer battles faced by his parents.

On November 1st, a video titled 'The Reason Jo Kwon, Grandson of Sunwoo Yongyeo, Went Silent (Family Matters, Confession, Home Reveal)' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Sunpung Sunwoo Yongyeo.'

In the video, Jo Kwon explained why he had been less active in the entertainment industry. He shared, "When I was in the military, my mom had to have part of her toe amputated due to melanoma, a type of skin cancer."

He continued, "My father, born in 1954, underwent four surgeries last year for colorectal cancer." Jo Kwon added, "That's why I couldn't work. I'm an only child, so I had to help my mom with the caregiving whenever I had time."

Jo Kwon is also focusing on his own health. He admitted, "I have low blood pressure and low blood sugar. I often break out in cold sweats, and my whole body gets drenched as if I've showered. My face turns pale, and I've even fainted while using the restroom. I collapsed several times in the waiting room during 'Sebakwi.'"

Sunwoo Yongyeo advised, "Even if you want to do everything, you should pace yourself and prioritize your health. Your body is your greatest asset."
