The YouTube channel 'Enjoy Couple,' run by the couple Son Min-soo and Im Ra-ra, recently uploaded a video titled 'Revealing All the Changes in My Body After Giving Birth That No One Told Me About..!'.
In the video, Im Ra-ra discusses her severe hair loss that began 120 days postpartum, revealing that her once thick hair has thinned by nearly half, making cleaning the drain a daily routine. Son Min-soo expressed his sympathy for his wife's changes, while Im Ra-ra gave a bittersweet smile at the unfamiliar reflection in the mirror.
She also detailed the physical changes in her body structure. Trying on clothes from a past trip to Italy, Im Ra-ra showed that despite her weight being similar to before, her ribcage had expanded by the width of a hand due to her twin pregnancy, making it impossible to zip up her dress.
Im Ra-ra shared that unlike mothers of singletons, her ribs, stretched from carrying twins, have not easily returned to their original state, leading her to wear her husband's shirts when going out. She also mentioned the economic and psychological challenges of having to dispose of all her old shoes after her weight increased to 85kg during pregnancy, causing her feet to widen.
The health warnings were not limited to her appearance. Im Ra-ra revealed, "My eyesight has deteriorated rapidly after giving birth, and the keloid scar from my C-section and the pain from stretched abdominal skin persist." She also confessed to experiencing sudden hearing loss due to the rapid physical changes and is currently undergoing ENT treatment. Additionally, she tearfully shared her struggle with postpartum depression, which felt like a heavy stone pressing down on her around 140 days postpartum, emphasizing the need for warm care and attention from family during such times of hormonal changes and increased menstrual flow.
However, Im Ra-ra noted that hopeful changes are gradually appearing over time. She explained that the dark pigmentation in areas like her armpits, which darkened during pregnancy, is lightening with care, and her rough skin texture is also in the recovery phase.
After nine years of dating, Im Ra-ra and Son Min-soo married in 2023 and welcomed their precious twins through IVF. The couple plans to continue sharing their realistic parenting journey with fans through their YouTube channel.
