K-pop singer Song Ga-in has kept a promise she made to a fan seven years ago.
On the 30th, Song Ga-in's YouTube channel released a video titled 'Song Ga-in's Surprise Visit to a Wedding for a True Fan! A Special Performance Just for the Bride'.
In the video, Song Ga-in shared, "I'm here at a wedding today. It's not my wedding, but I made a promise to my fan club 'Again' in the early days. I promised to sing at a fan's wedding, and today, after seven years, I'm fulfilling that promise."
When asked by the production team if most of her fans were already married, Song Ga-in replied, "There might be some remarriages, and some who have been married before. But there's a young fan, so I came secretly. I'm even disguising myself to move around."
The event was meticulously planned. Song Ga-in coordinated with the wedding venue to ensure she wouldn't cross paths with the bride until the right moment, even using a 'disguise operation' with hair and makeup to prepare for the surprise.
Song Ga-in admitted, "I'm so nervous I even took medicine. Singing at weddings is always nerve-wracking, but today is even more so." She added, "I can't do hidden camera pranks again. I'd rather be the one surprised. I feel like I'm going to throw up."
As the wedding ceremony began, Song Ga-in appeared on stage right after the speeches. The bride, caught off guard, was moved to tears, and the atmosphere was instantly filled with emotion.
Song Ga-in expressed, "This fan is truly precious to me. I promised to sing at her wedding seven years ago, and today I finally kept that promise." She performed the traditional Korean song 'Sarangga' and suggested that the groom kiss the bride every time the word 'love' appeared in the lyrics, heating up the venue.
After finishing her performance, Song Ga-in asked, "Was the surprise successful?" The guests responded with applause and cheers. She added, "I almost cried too. I thought it would be a success if the bride cried," showing her satisfaction.
Song Ga-in then joined the couple for their meal, personally congratulating them. She gifted them with couple pajamas and a handwritten letter, wishing them a happy newlywed life.
