On the recent episode of TV Chosun's 'Baekban Journey with Heo Young-man,' singer and actress Son Dam-bi shared her heartwarming reunion story with her husband, Lee Kyu-hyuk.
During the episode aired on the 29th, Son Dam-bi took viewers on a tour around Seoul, sharing various anecdotes. She opened up about her fateful romance with Lee Kyu-hyuk, saying, "We dated briefly 13 years ago and broke up. Ten years later, we met again, and everything progressed quickly. Before I knew it, we were married, and then we had a child," she said, bringing laughter to the show.
When a hot bowl of seaweed soup was served, Heo Young-man commented, "It's the kind of soup a mother-in-law makes for a disliked son-in-law," due to its potential to burn the mouth. Son Dam-bi humorously added, "Is that true? My mother makes it for my husband a lot," causing laughter.
Son Dam-bi and Lee Kyu-hyuk tied the knot in 2022 and welcomed their daughter, Hae-yi, in 2025. She shared a glimpse of their 11-month-old daughter, to which Heo Young-man remarked, "She looks just like her dad," admiring the resemblance to Lee Kyu-hyuk.
Discussing her daughter's personality, Son Dam-bi said, "Both of us are free-spirited, and it seems our child is too," she laughed. Heo Young-man suggested, "You should get her into sports."
Son Dam-bi also reminisced about her school days, mentioning that she attended all-girls schools in Gildong. "During festivals, many boys would come, and some even waited at the bus stop," she recalled.
She shared, "My mother was very strict. My curfew was 6 PM, and once, I got my hair cut for not keeping it. I was shaved bald. The boys waiting for me often faced trouble because of my mom," revealing her mother's strict educational philosophy.
Son Dam-bi confessed that her low voice was once a complex for her. "I became popular with 'Crazy.' It was well-loved, but some misunderstood the title as 'Son Dam-bi is crazy.' Also, there were so many parodies of the 'chair dance' that it eventually became banned on variety shows," she revealed.
Admitting that motherhood has made her more relaxed and 'aunt-like,' Son Dam-bi expressed her desire to take on villain roles as an actress, saying, "Don't I look a bit fierce?"
