Former Announcer Choi Yoo-ra Opens Up About Her Son's Wedding and New Family Dynamics

Former announcer and broadcaster Choi Yoo-ra has shared her thoughts following her son's wedding.

On the 28th, a video titled "Things I Taught My Son for His Wedding. Winning the Myeongdong Cathedral Wedding Lottery! A Novice Mother-in-Law's Confession During the Wedding Preparation Process? I Don't Want to Call Her My Daughter-in-Law" was uploaded to the 'Choi Yoo-ra's Hey Youra' channel.

In the video, Choi Yoo-ra revealed the scene of her son's wedding held at Myeongdong Cathedral last January. After the ceremony, Choi was seen in traditional Korean attire, wiping tears from her eyes with a tissue.

Continuing with the theme "Things I Realized While Marrying Off My Son," Choi shared her inner thoughts.

She said, "I used to think I would lead everything, that things would only happen if I was busy and involved. But last year, I realized for the first time that many things progressed without me doing anything."

Choi candidly admitted, "I'm an older woman still working in the industry, and there are so many social systems I don't know about. Without experience, I feel completely clueless, like an outsider."

Watching her son smoothly prepare for his wedding, she reflected, "Having them around makes things so much easier. It's not quite reliance, but I even tell my husband, 'Let the kids decide.'"

She also shared her thoughts on the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship, saying, "I dislike the term 'daughter-in-law' as much as menopause. I still refer to her as 'the woman my son loves.' That was the most fitting term."

Previously, Choi expressed her mixed feelings on her channel, saying in front of her daughter-in-law, "There's another woman my son loves besides me. I thought he only loved me." She humorously added, "Consider it a blessing to have a working mother-in-law," and "I'm busy working, so you two live your lives," drawing laughter.

Meanwhile, Choi Yoo-ra's son has gained attention for being a graduate of a prestigious American university.
