Singer Seo In-young candidly shared her feelings about her marriage and subsequent divorce, revealing that everyone around her anticipated the split except for herself.
On October 26, Seo In-young launched her YouTube channel 'Reformed Seo In-young' and uploaded her first video titled 'Seo In-young Reads Hate Comments After 10 Years: Truths, Lies, and Updates.'
In the video, Seo In-young addressed sensitive issues related to her personal life. She married a non-celebrity businessman in 2023 but divorced the following year.
Seo In-young confessed, "I didn't want to work or face anything. I wondered if I could live a normal life without being in this industry." When asked by the production team if she considered retirement, she replied, "Yes," adding, "The idea of completely retiring gives me goosebumps. People might not care about me, but I just wanted to quietly disappear."
During a content meeting, Seo In-young told the production team, "I can be honest about everything else, but I'm not cool about discussing my marriage and divorce yet." She explained, "There is another person involved. It's a sensitive issue. I can only speak from my perspective because I don't know his opinion, so I have to be careful."
She continued, "I think I learned from it. I learned about life." She emphasized, "In conclusion, a quiet married life doing nothing didn't suit me. I realized I need to be out there and active. I've lived a life of communicating with people since I was young."
The production team asked if she had any other realizations. Seo In-young replied, "Don't assume that the initial affection will last forever." The team laughed, saying, "That's how all relationships are." However, Seo In-young lamented, "Things can change, but if they change too quickly, I don't have time to prepare."
In response to a comment saying, 'She probably treated her husband like she did her staff. Her personality is too much for a regular person to handle,' Seo In-young clarified, "If I treated the writer like I did my husband, the writer would have married me. It's impossible to give my all like that."
Regarding a comment that read, 'Wasn't it expected? You lasted longer than I thought,' Seo In-young admitted, "That's true." She added, "People knew at the wedding. When I said I got divorced, they said, 'Oh, In-young, everyone knew except you. People expected it at the wedding.'"
When asked if she dreams of love again, Seo In-young replied, "Yes, I do. I've never been without a boyfriend. I can't live without love." However, she admitted, "It's not as easy as it seems. I try to be good to my partner, but dating is the hardest thing. I've dated countless times," shaking her head.
