EPIK HIGH recently showcased their camaraderie with BTS members RM and Suga in a new episode titled 'Have You Eaten? ft. BTS RM, Suga' on their official YouTube channel 'EPIKASE' released on the 26th.
To welcome RM and Suga back from their overseas schedule, EPIK HIGH prepared a heartfelt homemade meal. RM expressed his respect by saying, "Without EPIK HIGH, there would be no BTS," while joking that younger generations think of EPIK HIGH as YouTubers. EPIK HIGH humorously responded, "YouTube comes first." Mithra, who took charge of cooking, added humor by saying, "People think I'm a chef anyway," sticking to his chef persona.
RM admired EPIK HIGH's familiarity with various memes, stating, "I feel like I need to learn from you guys," while Suga humorously noted, "It's surprising that this is a conversation between people in their 30s and 40s." EPIK HIGH affectionately replied, "To us, you guys are always nineteen."
The episode also highlighted the strong friendship between EPIK HIGH and BTS. Tablo reminisced about Suga inviting him and Haru over a year ago to cook rice cake soup, praising Suga's cooking skills. When RM mentioned obtaining his driver's license, Tablo jokingly expressed disappointment, recalling their 'lost direction alliance.' Despite this, they found joy in shared traits like blood type and MBTI. RM humorously commented on EPIK HIGH's unpredictable spicy talk, saying, "I don't know how far we should go," eliciting more laughter.
Ahead of BTS's performance at Stanford Stadium, EPIK HIGH suggested taking a group photo at the 'Crying Tree,' the filming location of a documentary about Tablo's academic controversy, surprising the members. Tablo explained, "It's a good place to ward off bad luck," and added, "If we take a photo there, I'll start working on a solo album," drawing attention.
As they enjoyed Mithra's homemade dishes, EPIK HIGH reflected on BTS's history from their perspective. They shared anecdotes from meeting Suga as a trainee in 2010, to seeing the full BTS lineup for the first time in a music show waiting room in 2014 when Tablo was dealing with kidney stones, and Suga texting Tablo before the 2017 American Music Awards (AMA) live broadcast. RM and Suga's candid stories further enlivened the atmosphere.
In conclusion, Tablo commented on BTS's comeback with 'ARIRANG,' saying, "Just naming the album that has an impact," while RM explained, "Since we're all Korean, we wanted to redefine our own Arirang." Tablo added, "It's even more meaningful that a globally loved group made such a choice."
