Lee Young-ja Opens Up About 7-Year Silence with Jung Sun-hee
Lee Young-ja, a well-known South Korean broadcaster, has revealed the reasons behind her seven-year silence with fellow entertainer Jung Sun-hee.

On the October 23rd episode of tvN STORY's 'What To Do With The Leftovers,' Jung Sun-hee appeared as a guest, reuniting with Lee Young-ja and reflecting on their years apart.

The two were known as close friends in the entertainment industry, but they drifted apart following the tragic deaths of Choi Jin-sil and Jung Sun-hee's husband, Ahn Jae-hwan, in 2008. Jung Sun-hee explained the seven-year gap, saying, "We both went through such painful experiences that seeing each other would remind us of those wounds, so we wanted to avoid it. We implicitly agreed to survive on our own."

Lee Young-ja also cited trauma as the reason for their lack of contact. She admitted, "Even now, thinking about that time gives me trauma. I think we couldn't come together because we couldn't overcome it." She added, "I wonder if my impatience prevented me from being a good sister to her," expressing her regret.

Both dismissed rumors of a feud. Lee Young-ja and Jung Sun-hee clarified, "We didn't stop meeting because of a fight; we just grew apart due to our busy lives." Jung Sun-hee added, "I've been cheering her on from afar with a good feeling."
