On the 23rd, Sayuri shared a photo on her Instagram story with the caption, "I missed you, oppa!"
The photo features Lee Hwi-jae, who announced his return, appearing in the preview for next week's episode of KBS2's 'Immortal Songs'.
Sayuri commented on the post, reminiscing, "The oppa I know is warm, considerate, and takes good care of the cast without any arrogance, like a neighborhood brother." She added, "It pains me to see comments from people who speak as if they know his character without ever meeting or knowing him well."
Sayuri also liked a comment from Yoon Hyung-bin, who wrote, "At least the senior I knew was always a good person. With so many criticizing him, I wonder if there's something I don't know. Please support him."
Sayuri and Lee Hwi-jae first met in 2018 while appearing together on Comedy TV's 'Cosmic Talk Show'.
Meanwhile, Lee Hwi-jae is set to appear on the 'Immortal Songs' 2026 Entertainment King Special airing on the 28th, marking his return after nearly four years. In the preview, he is seen saying, "It's been a while. I'm Lee Hwi-jae," and appears emotional on stage.
Lee Hwi-jae had halted his broadcasting activities and moved to Canada following controversies in 2022, including noise complaints and allegations against his wife, Moon Jung-won. Despite rumors of immigration and retirement, he clarified it was a "30-year career break."
