In the third episode, Ki Soo-jong (played by Ha Jung-woo) and Kim Sun become united by sharing the secret of a kidnapping incident. However, as another secret adds tension to their barely mended relationship, viewers are left intrigued about the future developments.
The episode begins with Ki Soo-jong fleeing from the kidnapping scene. Running out of gas, he abandons his car, taking only a suitcase containing 3 billion won. Returning to Seyoon Building, he deletes CCTV footage of his presence and feels a mix of liberation from debt and guilt-induced nightmares.
Kim Sun, who witnessed the kidnapping while tailing Ki Soo-jong, pretends not to know and observes her husband. She subtly aids him, urging him to visit Min Hwal-seong (played by Kim Jun-han) in a coma and saving him from police questioning. She also deletes messages exchanged between Ki Soo-jong and Min Hwal-seong from a laptop.
With the money from the kidnapping, Ki Soo-jong pays off his debts and becomes the sole owner of Seyoon Building. Free from Real Capital's grasp, he experiences mixed emotions and enjoys a harmonious time with his family. He suggests to his hearing-impaired daughter, Darae (played by Park Seo-kyung), that they go to the U.S. for surgery. Knowing the money's source, Kim Sun watches her husband with a complex expression but decides to stand by him, feeling his genuine care for the family.
Ki Soo-jong overlooked one thing: a man he encountered during his escape emerges as a witness. Fortunately, the witness does not remember Ki Soo-jong's masked face, and Kim Sun provides a false alibi, claiming Ki Soo-jong was home at night. Relieved, Ki Soo-jong escapes the crisis. Alone with Ki Soo-jong, Kim Sun asks, "You did the kidnapping, right?" and they share a knowing look, believing everything is over.
However, at the end of the episode, a twist unfolds as Kim Sun secretly answers a call from Yona (played by Shim Eun-kyung) while Ki Soo-jong sleeps. Yona, whose redevelopment plans were disrupted by Ki Soo-jong's debt repayment, is determined to acquire Seyoon Building. She asks, "Kim Sun, is everything proceeding as planned?" The episode concludes with Kim Sun's anxious expression in the dark, revealing that she too harbors secrets, shaking up the unpredictable storyline of 'Building Owner' once again.
