On the 23rd, OTT platform TVING announced that 'Yumi's Cells Season 3' will be simultaneously released on HBO Max in 17 countries and regions across Asia-Pacific and on Disney+ Japan's TVING brand channel on November 13.
'Yumi's Cells Season 3' is TVING's flagship original content, known for its unique format combining live-action and 3D animation, which has been well-received since its debut. Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, the series has consistently contributed to high subscription rates and viewer engagement on TVING, building a strong fanbase and establishing itself as a powerful IP.
Yumi, Now a 3-Year Veteran Writer, Faces New Romance
This season, the story follows Yumi (played by Kim Go-eun), now a star writer in her third year, as she encounters an unexpected person who disrupts her uneventful life, leading to a rollercoaster of emotions and romance. Kim Go-eun, praised for her portrayal of Yumi throughout all seasons, is joined by rising star Kim Jae-won, whose diverse acting skills have made him a promising talent. The reunion of the strong production team further heightens anticipation among both domestic and international audiences.
TVING Accelerates Global Market Expansion as a K-Content Hub
Alongside the global release, TVING is enhancing the domestic user experience by launching a special 'Yumi's Cells' section, allowing viewers to enjoy all seasons in one place. This special section offers VODs of Seasons 1 and 2, shorts, actor clips, and more. Additionally, all episodes of Seasons 1 and 2 will be sequentially aired on tvN and tvN DRAMA channels, with special highlight broadcasts also planned.
A TVING representative stated, "TVING's global expansion is significant as it directly showcases K-content to international users," adding, "Through 'Yumi's Cells Season 3', we aim to demonstrate the global expansion potential of TVING's original IP."
'Yumi's Cells Season 3' will premiere exclusively on TVING in South Korea starting April 13, with two episodes released every Monday at 6 PM, and will air on tvN every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM.
