Comedian Shin Ki-ru Expresses Gratitude Amidst Mother's Passing

Comedian Shin Ki-ru has opened up about her feelings following her mother's passing and expressed gratitude to those who offered their condolences.

On the 21st, Shin Ki-ru shared on her Instagram, "Hyun-jung, who became a child without a mother overnight," beginning her heartfelt message.

She reminisced, "When I was young, if I threw a tantrum about not wanting a shot at the hospital, my mom would wait for me with banana milk and snacks, which I loved, if I behaved. Now, as an adult, I'm holding banana milk tightly, waiting for my mom's cremation. I didn't expect my mom to leave so soon, so I couldn't say what I wanted to her, nor hear what she wanted to say to me. But I'll always convey it in my heart, so please listen and watch over me, mom." She continued, "All of mom's acquaintances said she was proud of me, which gives me some comfort. Thank you, mom."

Shin Ki-ru confessed, "I, who couldn't even set up a table, managed to hold a funeral. So many people shared their hearts with me, came to mourn with me, and embraced me, which made it possible." She added, "I received so much comfort, more than I deserved, considering I haven't done much for others. I will never forget this and will live with gratitude. I want to reach out and thank each person soon, but my heart is still heavy, so I apologize. I will greet you all soon." Despite the somber mood, she added a touch of humor, "I wasn't interested in beauty, but since there was a scale, I stepped on it, expecting to have lost at least 5kg, but I only lost 1.5kg, leaving me puzzled."

Shin Ki-ru also requested, "To those who worry about me, I can't fulfill requests like 'don't cry' or 'be strong' yet. But I'll try my best to manage my intake without any issues. When I return to my daily life and meet people at work, please don't look at me with pity, but tease me as usual." She concluded, "Thank you with all my heart."

In the shared photos, Shin Ki-ru is seen holding banana milk and snacks, reminiscent of memories with her mother. She also shared images from the funeral, expressing her longing for her mother.

Shin Ki-ru's mother passed away on the 17th.
