Musical Actress Kim So-hyang Shares Unfortunate Update Amidst 'Anna Karenina' Casting Controversy
Musical actress Kim So-hyang recently shared an unfortunate update with her fans.

On October 18, Kim posted on her Instagram story with the brief caption, "Temu..." along with two photos. The images revealed a broken item she had ordered while working on a home project. Shattered glass was scattered on the floor, and Kim was seen receiving an IV drip at the hospital, evoking concern from her followers.

Previously, Kim So-hyang had subtly addressed the 'casting monopoly controversy' involving fellow actress Ock Joo-hyun, who stars alongside her in 'Anna Karenina.' After the controversy arose, Kim posted a cryptic message on her social media, "No comment." Ock Joo-hyun is set to perform in 23 out of the 38 shows, which accounts for 60% of the performances, while Kim So-hyang is scheduled for only 7 shows, sparking the controversy.

In response, the production company stated the following day, "Casting and scheduling are the exclusive rights of the production company and the original creators. Due to various factors such as negotiations with the licensor, reduction in total performances, and actors' schedules, the schedule was finalized with difficulty."

Meanwhile, 'Anna Karenina,' based on the novel by Tolstoy, explores themes of love, marriage, and family against the backdrop of 19th-century Russian aristocracy. The musical has been running at the Sejong Center in Seoul since September 20. Kim So-hyang will take the stage for the final time in this production on October 26.
