On the October 17th episode of tvN STORY's 'Lee Ho-sun's Counseling Center', Young-chul and Young-ja, participants from the 'divorced singles special' of 'I Am Solo', opened up about the real-life challenges they face after remarrying.
The couple revealed that they experienced repeated conflicts and breakups during their dating period. Young-chul, from the 28th season, recalled, "Even when she was pregnant, the situation was not easy." He added, "I was happy but worried about being a burden. I wanted to respect my wife's choice, but I felt hurt when she said she didn't want to have the baby."
Young-ja reflected on the moment she first learned about her pregnancy, saying, "I wanted a child, but my husband's reaction didn't give me confidence." She explained, "That uncertainty grew, leading me to consider separation."
Young-chul also shared his struggles, stating, "It was difficult knowing my wife didn't trust me." He admitted, "Being in a remarriage, I tried to understand, but emotionally, it was challenging." Young-ja revealed her trauma from her ex-husband's debts and lies, to which Young-chul responded, "I found myself questioning why I had to deal with issues from her past marriage."
Professor Lee Ho-sun identified the root of their conflict as a 'trust issue stemming from insecurity' and advised that emotional expression and communication are essential for healing their relationship.
