Actress Kim Jung-min has revealed that she faced financial difficulties following a scandal involving her ex-boyfriend.
In a video posted on the YouTube channel 'Exclusive World - The People Back Then' on the 18th, Kim Jung-min shared the story behind her hiatus from the entertainment industry. She confessed, "Due to a scandal with my former boyfriend, issues arose, and I have been on a break from broadcasting until now."
The conflict with her ex-boyfriend stemmed from financial issues. She stated, "I was asked for 100 million won for dating expenses, moving costs, and rent." Kim further added, "Out of fear, I returned the money, but he asked to get back together. When I refused, the amount demanded increased to 300 million, then 500 million won," shocking many.
Eventually, Kim Jung-min proceeded with legal action, and her ex-boyfriend was found guilty. However, even after the case concluded, her situation did not improve easily. Kim confessed, "There were so many malicious comments," and she was tormented by accusations ranging from "marriage fraud" to being called a "gold digger."
"Even before the trial results were out, my image had plummeted, and I have barely been able to work in broadcasting since," she shared, expressing the difficult emotions she faced after her 'hiatus.'
She said, "As people started to see me differently, I was almost unable to continue my broadcasting activities," adding, "Enduring that period was extremely tough." She continued, "There were moments when I didn't even have tens of thousands of won, and I eventually had to give up my home."
Currently, Kim Jung-min stated, "Now, overcoming the 'financial difficulties' I am facing is my biggest responsibility," and she is striving to rebuild her life through yoga, meditation, and preparing for certifications.
