BTS Documentary 'BTS: THE RETURN' Trailer Released, Featuring New Album 'ARIRANG'
The trailer for the documentary film 'BTS: THE RETURN', showcasing the making of BTS's fifth studio album 'ARIRANG', has been released.
On the morning of the 17th, the trailer was shared on the group's official social media channels. It highlights BTS's past, present, and future, featuring scenes from their previous world tour, military discharge events, and a songwriting session in Los Angeles for their new tracks.
The members express their thoughts, saying, "Trends change, and we can't keep doing the same thing," and "If we want to make a change, now is the time," as they prepare for their long-awaited comeback. They also reflect on their identity and origins, stating, "We are still just country boys from Korea." This introspection aligns with the main theme of their new album, which revisits the roots of the group. The documentary also captures their everyday lives, sparking curiosity about how their current emotions and inspirations are infused into their music.
The trailer is particularly moving with the inclusion of the traditional Korean folk song 'Arirang' as background music. The melody, combined with the narration, "I think we've returned to where we naturally belong," and "Could this be a scene only we can create?", heightens anticipation for BTS's new chapter. Scenes of the seven members brainstorming, recording, and filming together further build excitement for their upcoming activities.
'BTS: THE RETURN' will be available on Netflix starting the 27th. Directed by Bao Nguyen, the documentary follows his previous work, 'The Greatest Night in Pop', which was nominated for 'Best Music Film' at the 2025 Grammy Awards and three categories at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
