In the fifth episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Siren', aired on the 16th, the trust between Han Seol-ah (played by Park Min-young) and Cha Woo-seok (played by Wi Ha-jun) is shattered by new evidence, creating a tense atmosphere between them.
The episode achieved a nationwide household rating of 4.5%, peaking at 5.4%, and a metropolitan household rating of 4.7%, peaking at 5.7%, maintaining its position as the top-rated show in its time slot across cable and general programming channels for five episodes in a row. It also ranked first in the 2049 demographic, both nationwide and in metropolitan areas, according to Nielsen Korea.
During a mission to resolve a vandalism incident, Cha Woo-seok discovers a new side of Han Seol-ah. Despite her trauma, she responsibly tackles the case, prompting Cha Woo-seok to express his trust, saying, "I want to believe in you."
Han Seol-ah, who has always been met with suspicion, begins to lower her guard in response to Cha Woo-seok's warmth. She confides her suspicion that someone wishes her misfortune, given the mysterious deaths of her former lovers.
Cha Woo-seok proposes they pretend to be a couple to lure out the real culprit targeting Han Seol-ah's partners. Despite the boldness of the plan, Han Seol-ah agrees, and the two become allies in pursuit of a common goal.
Curiosity also grows around Baek Joon-beom (played by Kim Jung-hyun), a VIP at Royal Auction who has shown particular interest in Han Seol-ah. The discovery of a signature wine from a restaurant created by Han Seol-ah's ex-lover Yoon Seung-jae in Baek's private space, along with his discomfort towards Cha Woo-seok, raises questions. In response, Han Seol-ah and Cha Woo-seok pretend to be a couple in front of Baek, provoking him and leaving viewers intrigued by his true identity.
