Dean and Swings have opened up about a past altercation at a bar.
On the 14th, the YouTube channel 'Egenam Swings' released a video titled 'Finally Meeting Those Guys'.
In the video, Swings met with Dean, stating, "We are the pair that fought the most in the industry," and added, "We hadn't seen each other for a while. It's been two years since we last met." Dean recalled, "The last time we saw each other was when we fought at a bar."
The two had a conflict at a bar in Hannam-dong in the past. Dean recalled, "I was in a bad mood after breaking up with my girlfriend, and Swings made me drink quickly. A joke turned into something that crossed the line."
Swings shared, "At that time, my company wasn't doing well, and I was under a lot of stress. It was a tough period for me too," adding, "Dean told me not to only take care of successful people and to act properly, which felt like a stab to the heart."
The emotions escalated, leading to a loud argument in front of their staff. Swings admitted, "We both overreacted, and it turned into a full-blown fight," adding humorously, "After that, if Dean called during a company dinner, I would just flip my phone over."
Their relationship dates back to the Mnet 'Show Me the Money 2' era. Swings explained, "Back then, among existing rappers, there was a sentiment that going on 'Show Me the Money' was uncool. It was an unspoken rule not to participate, but I believed that talented people should go. I couldn't live in a semi-basement anymore."
Regarding his first meeting with Dean, Swings said, "Dean was a student of a friend of mine, and at that time, I had a bit of an old-school mentality," adding, "I didn't like people approaching me with 'I'm so-and-so's student' before proving themselves with their skills."
Swings initially kept his distance from Dean, who seemed to focus more on style than substance. When Dean asked Swings to be honest if he didn't like him, Swings thought, "You're a man," and suggested, "Let's go eat tacos," marking the start of their friendship.
Meanwhile, Dean shared that he once asked Swings for a feature, but was turned down. Swings candidly explained, "At that time, I couldn't recognize his music yet." When Swings mentioned he wasn't interested in making music now, Dean humorously jabbed, "If LE SSERAFIM asked you to feature, you'd do it right away," causing laughter.
