Korean Rapper DinDin Addresses Past Controversies and Personal Growth
Korean rapper DinDin has publicly addressed past controversies, offering an apology.
On the 13th, DinDin's YouTube channel 'DinDin is DinDin' released a video titled 'DinDin's Namu Wiki Appearance! Explaining the Cheese in Yukgaejang Controversy.'
In the video, DinDin candidly read through his Namu Wiki page, addressing various pieces of information and controversies. He specifically revisited his past comments about coach Paulo Bento and the South Korean national soccer team, offering an apology once again.
While reading about the 'Paulo Bento and South Korean National Soccer Team Criticism Controversy,' DinDin reflected, "What was I thinking?" He explained, "At the time, public sentiment towards Bento's leadership wasn't great, and during the World Cup season, everyone was saying it would be tough to reach the round of 16. I was frustrated by what I perceived as dishonesty."
He continued, "However, articles came out suggesting I was targeting Son Heung-min. As a citizen, I should have just supported the team. I deeply regret my actions."
DinDin revealed, "I reached out to those connected with the national team to apologize. Although I don't know Son Heung-min personally, I asked his aunt, whom I'm close with, to convey my apologies."
He also shared the original draft of a lengthy apology he had written. DinDin explained, "I intended to post it officially, but my manager advised against it since I hadn't committed a legal offense. It was frustrating, so I posted it on my story instead."
DinDin confessed, "I've changed a lot since then. Without that incident, I might have continued making rash judgments. With another World Cup season approaching, people still ask me for my opinion, but I'm not an expert. I just hope we win, and I believe all we can do is support the team."
On a lighter note, DinDin joked about his height listed as 167.7cm, saying, "People like us don't measure our height unless required. We remember our best measurements. I think I'm about 168cm now."
DinDin also opened up about experiencing growth issues as a child, sharing, "As the eldest son born late, my parents had high expectations. They taught me English from a young age, even before I spoke Korean. The stress was so intense that it led to growth issues."
