Actress Kim Hee-jung has shared her personal struggles.
On the October 12th episode of KBS2's 'Problematic Men in the Rooftop Room,' Kim Hee-jung revealed her impressive career with appearances in 12 films and 147 dramas. She expressed her passion for acting, stating that she feels alive when working. Despite her enthusiasm, she also shared the challenges of being a prolific actress, having to manage rapid emotional shifts while working on five projects simultaneously.
Kim also shared behind-the-scenes stories from her turning point in life, during the 'Love and War' era. Despite concerns from those around her, she recalled it as a precious opportunity where she poured her soul into her performance, gaining recognition. Contrary to her public image as an 'adulteress,' she humorously clarified that she was actually known for playing devoted wife roles.
She also opened up about her 17-year-long period of obscurity. Despite earning a meager 9,800 won per episode, she persevered by being on standby 24/7. Her dedication eventually led her to become the 'persona' of writer Moon Young-nam through dramas like 'Famous Princesses' and 'The Wife's Club,' leaving a lasting impact.
Kim's touching family story also resonated with many. Despite being unmarried, she has raised her nephews as her own children after her brother's early passing. She shared that her eldest nephew is now preparing for marriage, bringing warmth to the audience.
Meanwhile, the KBS2 drama 'Red Pearl' airs weekdays at 7:50 PM.
