Korean actress Jung Si-a recently opened up about prioritizing her children's education expenses over buying new clothes.
On October 13, Jung Si-a's YouTube channel 'Jung Si-a's A-si-jeong' featured a video titled 'No Clothes Shopping for Jung Si-a! Tips on Dressing Stylishly. Jung Si-a's Real Mom Lookbook (Raiding Son's Closet)'.
In the video, Jung Si-a showcased her unique styling by mixing her son Jun-woo's clothes with her own.
Jung Si-a stated, "Today, I'm here to share tips on mixing and matching outfits with my son's and my clothes." She added, "I often wear Jun-woo's clothes, even during shoots. When kids reach fifth or sixth grade, or even high school, moms can share clothes with their sons." However, she humorously noted that wearing her daughter's clothes is off-limits, saying, "If I wear my daughter's clothes, it's chaos. I'm too scared to even enter her room."
Jung Si-a, who once had a passion for fashion, confessed, "After marriage and having kids, my spending priorities changed. I used to love clothes, but now I find myself buying less. I don't have the energy to focus on fashion." She candidly shared, "At some point, the kids' education expenses became significant."
Her husband, Baek Do-bin, also shares a love for fashion. Jung Si-a mentioned, "My husband used to have his own closet for clothes, but after marriage and kids, both our closets disappeared. It's not just about losing clothes; it's like losing a part of our dreams." She added, "I enjoy shopping, but now I find joy in buying clothes for Jun-woo."
Jung Si-a demonstrated styling tips using items from her son's wardrobe. She noted that her 183cm tall son once wore up to a 3XL size and currently wears between large and 2XL. She explained that these larger sizes naturally cover any changes in her condition or body shape, saying, "Whether my belly shows or I'm conscious of my arms or stomach, these clothes cover it all. It's great."
She also shared the realistic challenges of motherhood, stating, "Raising kids is really busy. There's no time to think about what to wear. I can't spend energy on that. So, even when I dress quickly, jeans are always a reliable choice."
Jung Si-a added, "All moms probably feel the same. It feels wasteful to buy something for myself. But when I want to feel good, I can match my husband's clothes with mine." She admitted to frequently wearing her husband's jackets, joking, "I thought about bringing my husband's clothes today, but there were too many."
In conclusion, Jung Si-a expressed, "It's a bit sad for moms. I used to buy a lot of clothes, but now it feels wasteful to buy even one thing for myself. I showed how to beautifully match clothes from my son's or husband's wardrobe with what I have."
Meanwhile, Jung Si-a and Baek Do-bin's daughter, Baek Seo-woo, attends Yewon School, where the annual tuition is around 9 million won, and their son, Baek Jun-woo, is an aspiring basketball player.
