Korean Actress Jung Ga-eun Opens Up About Remarriage and Parenting

Korean actress Jung Ga-eun recently hinted at the possibility of remarriage.

On October 12, the YouTube channel 'Yujeong and Jujeong' released a video titled 'How Far Can a Single Mom's Escapade Go?' featuring Jung Ga-eun.

During the episode, Seo Yoo-jung posed a hypothetical question about dating and marriage, asking, "Would you prefer a wealthy 80-year-old or a peer-aged TV producer?" Jung Ga-eun humorously responded, "Money isn't everything. However, if an 80-year-old gentleman likes me, I would respect him," causing laughter.

Both Jung Ga-eun and Seo Yoo-jung, who are mothers raising daughters, shared a deep connection. Jung Ga-eun recalled visiting Seo Yoo-jung twice in Songdo and taking care of her daughter when she was sick.

Seo Yoo-jung expressed her gratitude, saying, "During that challenging time, Ga-eun brought food and took care of my daughter, Song-i. I considered her a parenting mentor and was very thankful. I can't forget her kindness."

The conversation also touched on their daughters' pride in their mothers' fame. Jung Ga-eun shared, "When I pick up my daughter from her academy, she proudly says, 'My mom is a celebrity.'" She added, "In the elevator, she suddenly announces, 'My mom is Jung Ga-eun,'" sharing her daughter's adorable pride.

Seo Yoo-jung shared a similar experience, recalling, "Someone recognized me and greeted me, and my daughter, Song-i, grabbed her friend's hand and said, 'That's my mom.'" She also recounted a story where her daughter asked, "Are you an actress, mom?" and then declared, "I want to be an actress when I grow up."

However, both actresses agreed that they would be hesitant if their daughters wanted to pursue a career in entertainment. Jung Ga-eun stated, "I don't want to encourage it. It would be better if they had other skills." She continued, "Being in the public eye means enduring scrutiny. While following the law is a given, there's a constant pressure to be a role model. I don't want to impose that burden on my child."

Jung Ga-eun, who married a businessman in 2016 and divorced in 2018, is currently raising her daughter alone. She has recently started working as a taxi driver and obtained a financial planner certification, drawing public attention.
