Korean TV Personality Ahn Sun-young Shares Experience of Overcoming Gossip After Refusing Senior's Request

Korean TV personality Ahn Sun-young recently opened up about an incident from her college days where she faced gossip after refusing an unreasonable request from a senior. This revelation has sparked interest among fans.

On October 11, Ahn Sun-young shared a video on her YouTube channel titled 'Actions You Must Take If You Are Easily Hurt by Others' Influence.' In the video, she candidly discussed her thoughts on finding peace and happiness by learning to say no.

Ahn emphasized, "To be truly happy, you need to know how to refuse." She recounted a specific incident from her college years where she struggled to decline a senior's request, which led to gossip.

She explained, "Sometimes people make absurdly rude requests." Ahn, who attended a regional university, shared that she received numerous calls from seniors she barely remembered after appearing on TV. One senior asked her to send a congratulatory wreath for the opening of their acting academy.

The requests didn't stop there. Ahn revealed that the senior also asked her to give a special lecture for the academy's opening day. She recalled, "Out of the blue, they said, 'Sun-young, it's been a while. Remember when I bought you pizza during our free period?' At that time, I was earning a monthly salary of 500,000 won while juggling 12 regular programs a week. I was too busy, so I explained I was in the middle of filming and blocked them."

Following this, Ahn became the subject of gossip. She said, "I heard they badmouthed me throughout the alumni meeting, telling other seniors I was arrogant. I didn't even want to make an effort to clear up the misunderstanding at the time." Eventually, she took a personal trip to give a lecture and host an event for juniors, which helped clear her name.

Ahn Sun-young debuted as a comedian in 2000 through MBC's 11th open recruitment. She married a businessman in 2013 and has a son.
