In the 15th episode of tvN's weekend drama 'Undercover Miss Hong' (directed by Park Sun-ho, Na Ji-hyun / written by Moon Hyun-kyung), aired on the 7th, Hong Geum-bo (played by Park Shin-hye) and the Yeouido Pirates overcome crises with the help of precious colleagues and family. The episode achieved its highest ratings yet, with an average of 13.1% and a peak of 14.5% nationwide on cable, IPTV, and satellite platforms, and 14.0% average and 15.6% peak in the metropolitan area. The drama continues to heat up as it approaches its finale. The show also ranked first in its time slot across all channels, including terrestrial, among the 20-49 age demographic nationwide and in the metropolitan area, according to Nielsen Korea.
In this episode, the four roommates of Room 301 gathered at Hong Geum-bo's family chicken restaurant to celebrate Kim Mi-sook's (played by Kang Chae-young) new job. However, their joyful reunion was interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Bong Dal-soo (played by Kim Roe-ha) and his gang, causing tension to rise. Amidst the panic, Hong Geum-bo's parents, Kim Soon-jung (played by Lee Soo-mi) and Hong Chun-seop (played by Kim Young-woong), bravely defended their daughter. Surprisingly, the seemingly ordinary couple displayed martial prowess, revealing their past as a martial arts master and a young martial artist, bringing a humorous twist. Hong Geum-bo, inheriting their spirit, also fought back fiercely, delivering a thrilling scene. The shocking revelation came when Kang No-ra (played by Choi Ji-soo), who was terrified, identified Bong Dal-soo as the man who attempted to kidnap her when she was 10.
Meanwhile, after Hong Geum-bo held a press conference revealing her identity and declared war against Hanmin Securities, Chairman Kang Pil-beom (played by Lee Deok-hwa) retaliated by spreading rumors about her in Yeouido. The Yeouido Pirates planned to acquire as much stock in Hanmin Securities as possible, and Shin Jung-woo (played by Go Kyung-pyo) re-engaged DK Ventures, a former ally. With all slush funds withdrawn and DK Ventures pulling out, Chairman Kang and Secretary Song Joo-ran (played by Park Mi-hyun) were visibly anxious.
Furthermore, Hong Geum-bo revealed to Choi In-ja (played by Byun Jung-soo) that the perpetrator of the attempted kidnapping 15 years ago was Secretary Song's right-hand man. Shocked, Choi confronted Secretary Song, but when Chairman Kang defended her, Choi felt betrayed and transferred her shares to the Yeouido Pirates, siding with Hong Geum-bo. However, Secretary Song countered by having Go Bok-hee (played by Ha Yoon-kyung) arrested for embezzlement at her previous job, intensifying the standoff. Witnessing this, Kang No-ra distanced herself from Hong Geum-bo, saying, "Don't expect me to do everything for you like others."
As an extraordinary shareholders' meeting was convened at Hanmin Securities, Hong Geum-bo reached out to shareholders who could support the Yeouido Pirates and sought cooperation from former manager So Kyung-dong (played by Seo Hyun-chul). On the day of the meeting, when Chairman Kang controlled the entrance, Hong Geum-bo sneaked in through the back door, only to find the stairwell locked. Surprisingly, Manager Cha Joong-il (played by Lim Chul-soo) opened the door, offering unexpected help. Despite the proposal being rejected, the presence of Manager So and the dismissed employees, who supported the motion to dismiss Chairman Kang, dealt a significant blow to his pride and honor.
The episode concluded with a shocking twist that left viewers stunned. Chairman Kang, trusting his daughter Kang No-ra, introduced her as the new face of Hanmin Securities at a press conference. However, Kang No-ra, wearing a junior staff uniform, announced her intention to transfer her shares to the Yeouido Pirates, causing a stir. Hong Geum-bo's meticulous strategy exploited the vulnerabilities of Chairman Kang and Secretary Song. The sudden change in Kang No-ra's stance left viewers eagerly anticipating the final episode.
The final episode of tvN's weekend drama 'Undercover Miss Hong' will air on Sunday, the 8th, at 9:10 PM.
